This workshop is aimed at creating the safe space that is needed to learn about differences in worldviews, intersectionality of identities, unique challenges people face in relation to these identities, and for students to share their own personal experiences.
Creating such opportunities have advantages that stretch beyond classrooms. Having these diversity conversations help to develop belonging, foster better relationships, opportunities, and emotional skills such as perspective taking and empathy.
This workshop could benefit any group of students who will work together for a period of time, such as students taking a course together or a new cohort of students starting their degrees.
